When one door closes, another opens. I’ve learned that in the unexpected turns of life, there are always new opportunities taking shape. You just need the courage to pursue them and the determination to see them through.
A foolish decision changed my life. My daughter and I were riding scooters at Barboursville Park. She had the wisdom to walk hers down the hill, but I rode mine down. The ensuing impact with the asphalt was all it took to leave me out of work for 6 weeks with a broken wrist, titanium plate, and 14 screws. That forced pause became my unlikely blessing.
I’d been circling the idea of real estate for years. However, when you are waiting for the “perfect timing,” it never seems to come. I’d been working a sales route job as a floater, running routes, managing inventory, and building relationships with shop owners. It wasn’t a dream job and it was difficult, but it was reliable and steady work. After the accident, I had some time on my hands and decided to get my real estate license in July 2014.
My plan was to ease in, but God had other plans. Just months after earning my license, on my youngest daughter’s first birthday, my position was eliminated. Suddenly, real estate wasn’t a side hustle anymore. With a severance package and a ticking clock, I dove in. By the time the safety net ran out, I was closing deals and realizing that what felt like a setback was actually a door opening. If that accident had never happened, I never would have earned my license and I wouldn't have had a plan B when I was laid off. My experience in sales, marketing, and management all laid the foundation for my career.
After getting my real estate business off the ground, I kept building on that momentum, focusing on serving clients well, treating everyone the same whether they were buying or selling a $50,000 house or a $500,000 one. Over time, I expanded into commercial real estate, serving the needs of business owners, landlords and investors across the Tri-State. I intentionally prioritize protecting my family time; structuring my business so I can be present for my wife and kids. As my business grew, I became known for my honest, relationship-focused approach that honors the personal experience real estate transactions really are.
Real estate is what I do, but who I am is a follower of Christ, husband to my wife, Donna, and father to three daughters, Kameron, Paisley, and Ziva. Through real estate, I use my values, education, experiences, and faith to serve others.
I’ve always gone to church and would have considered myself a believer, but that took on a deeper meaning in 2023 when my wife and I volunteered at a youth conference in Montana for our 15th wedding anniversary. It was there that I truly encountered Christ! That experience reshaped everything: how I parent, how I run my business, and how I show up in my community. I strive to make my work an extension of my values: integrity, service, and a commitment to loving my neighbor.
All three of my daughters are active in community theater, both on stage and behind the scenes. We’re very involved in Celebration Church and our younger two attend Covenant Christian School. To encourage young adults to start their own businesses, I serve on the Advisory Board for Entrepreneurship at Cabell County Career Technical Center. I also helped launch Hope Nation, an addiction restoration initiative, and recently started a men’s fellowship group that meets to race RC cars. I enjoy blending community, faith, and fun.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that poor decisions leading to eating asphalt can sometimes lead to growing in new directions, finding new ways to serve, and deepening faith.
My approach combines old-school values, like treating every client with respect, honesty, and personal attention, with a modern approach that leverages the latest technology, such as Matterport 3D tours, drone photography, and targeted social media campaigns to maximize your property’s exposure. For sellers, I personally walk through the home, create a detailed punch list of repairs or improvements needed, and can even coordinate with my trusted team of contractors, so my clients don’t have to worry about a thing. I pride myself on clear, direct communication and adapt my approach to fit your needs, whether you prefer a phone call, text, video-chat, or face-to-face meeting.
Building relationships with my clients is one of the greatest joys that comes with the job. It not only helps me serve you better, but often leads to connections that extend beyond real estate, making this profession all the more rewarding!
Sincerely,
Brody Nash
